It’s crazy to realize the different paths people take after high school. The cool kids suddenly aren’t so cool, and everyone else begins to realize life isn’t about being cool, anyway.
As time goes on, all your classmates grow into themselves, choosing to either outgrow old labels or make the most of what they’ve always been known as. This is one reason why high school reunions are so great!
A reunion is like another shot at high school. It’s when everyone can come back together without all the pressure of being young kids trying to find their path in life. By this point, you’ve all found your path and you get to just enjoy it.
If you happen to be planning the reunion, here are some great class reunion themes to help you out!
10-Year Reunion Ideas
If you graduated high school any time in the early 2000s, you grew up in the 90s. You spent your childhood watching classic 90s cartoons and looking up to the famous kid celebrities of the time. You were the last generation before smartphones and social media.
This is a time to celebrate! Get all your classmates together and encourage them to wear their best denim jackets, ripped jeans, and crop tops. These are 90s styles that have been making a comeback lately, so no one should have a problem looking good.
20-Year Reunion Ideas
Planning a 20-year reunion can be a little difficult if you’re having trouble remembering your classmates. It’s likely that the last time you saw many of them was prom… why not pick up where you left off? Consider making your reunion another prom night, maybe even with the same exact theme of your actual prom and everything!
Or, think about where everyone is in their lives right now. You might all have small children or have just gotten married, great excuses to make the event family-friendly. Turn your reunion into a classic cookout or host it on a holiday weekend to make it a fun getaway for families.
30-Year and up Reunion Ideas
Classes that graduated 30 years ago and further likely grew up in the 80s, or maybe even the 60’s if you’re coming up on a 50-year reunion! Life has really changed since then, so it might be time for a little bit of reminiscing about more than just high school.
Bring back the era in which you grew up. Think, long skirts and drive-ins or neon colors and leg warmers. Make a playlist that has all the best throwbacks from that time and maybe use some of the lingo people used to say to write the invites, too.
Making Class Reunion Themes Come to Life
It’s one thing to plan the theme and another to come up with all the details that support it. From the music to the venue and the food to the party favors, there is much to do! Expect a bit of stress during the planning process, but, also bet for it to all be worth it.
